Threadjacking: Oh my god please always and everywhere!
Backtagging: There is no such thing as a too-old tag.
Fourth-walling: Get in touch with me first.
Hugging this character: Yes please!
Kissing this character: Go for it! You might get punched, fair warning.
Fighting this character: Get in touch with me first. I love to have him get punched in the face, but check in with me on the off-chance that I've, you know, done threads that take place later in time talking about his pure and umblemished and unblackened eyes.
Injury/death: Obviously check in first, but odds are I'll be open to it.
Reading this character's mind: Go for it! All you'll see are erotic fantasies about justice anyway.
Psychically manipulating this character: Goooo forrr iiit.
OOC/IC triggers/discomfort: I'll get in touch with you or just drop the thread if I'm personally uncomfortable about anything, so don't worry about skirting any topics for OOC reasons. ICly, Edgeworth himself is a mess; he has PTSD which is triggered consistently by earthquakes and occasionally by confined spaces and the sound of gunfire. So if you ICly fire a gun around him or lock him in a closet or whatever, he'll get weird.
What I need to know
Edgeworth is coming into the city with the ability of guilt manipulation. This means he will be able to do the following:
1.) Cause another person to relive one or more crimes from their past. "Crime" here is relative - any incident in which they transgressed against someone, perceive themselves to have transgressed against someone, or are perceived to have transgressed can be a crime. Additionally, if Edgeworth is deliberately activating this power, he can cause them to relive the crime he wants them to relive.
2.) Cause them to suffer feelings of extreme remorse associated with this crime. The degree of guilt will be proportional to the severity of the crime.
3.) Potentially drive them, using these feelings of guilt, to confess their crimes.
This power will be limited by several factors. First, he must be in direct physical contact for this. Second, he's not an evil sort of guy, so he'd really have to be furious before he deliberately used this against someone. And, third, he'll have very poor control over the power.
Now, this sort of thing can cause real and significant emotional damage to a character, so I will never, ever have him use this power without contacting you first. Filling out this permissions post is not going to give me carte blanche to use this whenever; prior to any actual use, I will contact you. This is just to know who's interested in plotting out something involving this.
So please, if you are interested, answer these questions!
1.) Are you interested in plotting something out with me involving the use of this power?
2.) If so, how? Please note that, as I wrote above, he'll have poor control over this power. So there's the possibility that he might use the power against unrepentant villainous types, if they manage to make him really really mad; there's also the possibility that the power might end up being unintentionally triggered against someone he wouldn't intend to use it against. I'm open to plotting of both types!
3.) Would your character also confess their crime? Be warned that Edgeworth can be a crusader at times; he might very well tattle on them if it's a very bad sort of thing. We can very easily get around this, though!

Date: 2014-02-25 01:46 am (UTC)2. If so, how? Weeeeeell, Kotetsu is an extremely Lawful Good sort of character anyway lmfao so 'crimes' with him are gonna be more like 'I let down my partner/daughter/[someone else]', 'I wasn't there when my wife died', 'I failed to save xyz random civilian'. If there would be some situation where that sort of thing would be interesting in a plot, I'd be down??
Aaaalso I guess it could be useful for making him feel bad about keeping secrets??? (By secrets, I mean things like not telling his daughter his profession as a superhero most of her life, not telling his partner that his powers are fading, etc, generally things that he thinks will upset people or make them worry about him but are not actually Bad Things.)
3. Would your character also confess their crime? May....be.....? HAHAHA I'M SORRY THIS IS UNHELPFUL kotetsu is a bottler and more the type to quietly stew in his feelings forever than talk to people about his problems like a healthy adult so it really depends on how intense the guilt is. Like he'd probably have to feel like he was about to go out of his mind and not be able to properly function otherwise.
....but considering he's a goody-two-shoes I DON'T SEE THINGS GETTING TO THAT POINT????? idk idk this is all so unhelpful i'm sorry again
